The Sanitarians work to ensure that septic systems are located and installed according to the Connecticut Public Health Code. Properly installed and maintained septic systems reduce the risk of contaminating groundwater and reduce the health risk of exposure to untreated sewage to our residents.
Our Environmental Health Division has as-builts available for most of the septic systems that have been installed in Plainville and Southington, depending on when the system was installed. As-builts are available from as early as 1960, but systems installed since the mid-1980s are most likely to have accurate as-builts available.
